1 The History of Tree-planting Day 植树节的历史

　　Afforestation can not only make our homes green and beautiful, but also can play a role in expanding forest resources, preventing soil erosion, protect the farmland, climate regulation, the promotion of economic development. It is a contemporary grand project to benefit the future generations. While "Arbor Day" is the day that some countries in the form of law to promote the benefit of forest, and mobilize the masses to participate in afforestation. According to the length of time, people have Tree-planting Day, week or month to plant trees, and all of them call Tree-planting Day. Through this activity, to stimulate people's love for forest and afforestation, to enhance the awareness of forest function to promot afforestation, reaching the aim of loving forest, protecting forest, expanding forest resources and improving the ecological environment. It is a festival to mobilize the national to plan trees. China's Arbor Day begins to commemorate the death of Mr. Sun Zhongshan, who is the earliest people aware the importance of forest and advocate afforestation in the China modern history. China set the rule that March 12th is Arbor Day, to encourage people of all nationalities for afforestation, greening of the motherland, improving the environment, benefit the future generations. Each Arbor Day has different themes, 2013 Arbor Day’s theme is: carry out in a deep-going way for afforestation, vigorously promote the construction of ecological civilization.Each year the school and some companies will organize people to plant trees.

　　植树造林不仅可以绿化和美化家园，同时还可以起到扩大山林资源、防止水土流失、保护农田、调节气候、促进经济发展等作用，是一项利于当代、造福子孙的宏伟工程。而“植树节”则是一些国家以法律形式规定的以宣传森林效益，并动员群众参加造林为活动内容的节日。按时间长短可分为植树日、植树周或植树月，总称植树节。通过这种活动，激发人们爱林、造林的感情，提高人们对森林功用的认识，促进国土绿化，达到爱林护林和扩大森林资源、改善生态环境的目的。是为了动员全民植树而规定的节日。我国的植树节开始时是为纪念孙中山先生逝世，孙中山是中国近代史上最早意识到森林的.重要意义和倡导植树造林的人。我国规定以3月12日为中国的植树节，以鼓励全国各族人民植树造林，绿化祖国，改善环境，造福子孙后代。每一年的植树节都有不同的主题，2013年的植树节主题是：深入开展造林绿化，大力推进生态文明建设。每年各学校单位都会组织去植树。

2 Arbor Day 植树节

　　March 12th is Tree Planting Day. This year our school bought enough trees before that day . On that day , we didn‘t had classes . The teachers and our classmates planted trees around our school.

　　We began to planted trees as soon as we got to school . Some students dug the holes . Some students put the trees into the holes.

　　Some students put the earth back to the holes. Then we pushed the earth hard with our feet . At last we watered the trees as much as possible.

　　From then on we looked after the trees carefully and the trees grew very well . It made our shcool more beautiful .And How happy we are !

　　三月十二日是植树节。今年在植树节前一天我们学校买了足够的树木。在那一天，我们没有上课。我们的老师和同学们围绕着我们的学校种植树木。

　　当我们到学校时我们开始种植树木。一些学生挖洞。一些学生把树放进洞。

　　一些学生把土填回洞里。然后我们用我们的脚把泥土踩实。最后我们尽可能多的给树浇水。

　　然后我们仔细照看树木，树木生长状况良好。它使我们的学校更加美丽。我们是多么的开心！

3 Planting Trees 植树

　　It was fine on March 12, 2001. I got up early that day. All the students in our school went to the hill to plant trees.

　　We arrived at the hill at eight o'clock. The teacher asked each of us to plant at least six trees. Then we started digging, planting and watering. We all worked so hard that we could finish our tasks ahead of time. Among us,Wang Lin, our monitor set a good example for us. Though he was ill, he worked harder. When he finished his task, he went on to help others without even a little rest. He was wet all over after work. "I must learn from him," I said to myself . Looking at the lines of the young trees, we smiled happily, forgetting our tiredness.

　　2001年3月12日天气晴朗。那天我起得早。我们学校的所有的学生到山上植树。

　　我们在八点赶到山上。老师要求我们每个人至少植六棵树。然后我们开始挖坑，种植和浇水。我们所人都辛勤工作，所以我们可以提前完成任务。在我们中间，王麟，我们的班长给我们树立了好榜样。虽然他病了，但他很努力的工作。当他完成他的任务的时候，他帮助别人，甚至都没有休息一下。他全身都湿了之后仍然继续工作。”我要向他学习，”我对自己说。看着排成一条线的小树，我们高兴地笑了，忘记了我们的疲倦。

4 植树节 Planting Day

　　Today is planting day. Our class have a meaningful activity. All of our classmates go to plant flowers outside the school gate. We got the flower seeding from others. We first cleaned the weeds and then dug small pits. After we put the seeds in the pits, we watering them. Because of this activity, we realize that working is tired but happy. We decided to take care these flower seeds regularly. And we hope we can see the beautiful flowers quickly.

　　今天是植树节。我们班举行了一次有意义的活动。我们全班到校门口外种花。我们从别人那里得到花的种子。我们首先清除杂草，然后挖小坑。我们把种子放到坑里就给它们浇水。因为这次活动，我们意识到劳动虽然累但也开心。我们决定有规律地照顾这些花苗。我们也希望可以快点看到美丽的花朵。

5 Plant More Trees 多种树

　　There is no denying that trees not only play a magnificent role in keeping ecology in balance, but also provide people with various resources.

　　To begin with, trees produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, which offer us fresh air. As greenhouse effect is getting more and more serious, planting more trees is an effective way to respond to it.

　　Apart from this, it is tree that stabilizes soils and prevents them from being eroded by floods. Besides, trees can be applied to against desert. Moreover, trees perform the function of the regulation of air temperature and humidity. This benefit to people’s fitting to the environment.

　　Last but not least, trees are a kind of material of paper making, which makes our life and communication between people more convenient.

　　From what has been mentioned above, we can get the conclusion that trees improve both our environment and life, it is necessary for us to plant more trees.
